DAY 3: Jesus Came To Baptize Us With The Holy Spirit
Saturday, May 23, 2020
JESUS CAME TO BAPTIZE US WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
“Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ (John 1.33).
“I will take out the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh and put my Spirit within you.” (Ezekiel 36.26)
Thank You Lord Jesus for sending us the promised Holy Spirit (Your own life) after You were ascended, glorified and seated at the right hand of the Power. Give us a greater revelation of what You meant when You said “without Me You can do nothing.” Thank You for continuing Your ministry with and through us.
Heavenly Father we ask that the person and reality of the Holy Spirit will become central in the churches understanding and message. Jesus, You came to be the Lamb of God and to Baptize us in the Holy Spirit. Remove the blindness from Your church concerning this essential gift. We ask You to baptize all Your people mightily with Your Spirit and with power this Pentecost.
Holy Spirit, forgive us for ignoring You, quenching You and not receiving You as God’s gift to replace our selfish nature with Your life. Shake us out of this appalling omission and ignorance.
Lord Jesus, destroy the veil of complacency, self-righteousness and ignorance of your ways that lies over much of Your body and cause us to welcome the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. We are hungry for the life of the Holy Spirit, the presence of the Holy Spirit, the fruit of the Holy Spirit, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit to be demonstrated in our lives. Come Holy Spirit to fill, flood and anoint every member of the body of Christ to be agents of Your truth, love and mercy.
Holy Spirit be all, in all, in all we do that all may glorify Jesus and not any man. Be the life behind every breath we take, every word we speak, and live in us as a fountain of love, joy, peace and uprightness.
Holy Spirit take complete control of our lives as we make room for You. We declare our dependence on You. We want the sinful, selfish, soulish element of our natures to be removed and replaced by Your awesome might and presence. Take Your place as The Ruler, Director of our lives and of Your church this Pentecost 2020.
