PENTECOST IS: “TO THE JEW FIRST”
Pentecost (Shavuot) commemorates when Mt. Sinai, being covered with fire, God gave His Law written on tablets of stone to Israel through Moses. The Feast of Pentecost comes 50 days after Passover, the name coming from the Greek word for fifty.
Fifty days after Jesus’ Passover, when the Jewish people were celebrating the Law given on Mt. Sinai God sent fire on Mount Zion (Jerusalem) and wrote His law of love on the hearts of His first disciples (all Jewish).
“For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. …. . I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God." (Ezek 36:24,26-28)
“And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.” (Joel 2.28)
Thank You Father, that though You gave the people of Israel Your Law on tablets of stone on the first Pentecost; You also promised to write Your Law on their hearts, by giving them a new heart and a new spirit. Thank You that You fulfilled this promise on the Pentecost after Yeshua’s ascension, when 3,000 Jewish people received the gift of the promised Holy Spirit and the gift of a new heart and a new Spirit. Now we ask You to fulfill this promise to them again and to all believers throughout the world. Holy Spirit write Your Law of love more fully in their hearts and ours, put Your Spirit upon them and on us, that we all may be prophets of Your word and work.
Pour You Spirit out anew on their sons and daughters in Israel and in the diaspora and on Your Body worldwide. Let Israel and Your worldwide Body become a Spirit filled people and receive Your Holy Spirit in a fresh Heaven-sent Pentecost and awakening this Pentecost 2020!
We also Thank You Lord for grafting Your Body into the covenants and promises You made with Israel and empowering them and us to walk together in Your ways by the Law of Love and the Law of The Spirit of Life.
