EXPECTATIONS FOR PENTECOST 2020
Why can we expect the Pentecost 2020 to be special?
Passover this year was recognized, by both Christian ministers and Jewish rabbis, as unlike any other Passover since the first Passover in Egypt. The first Passover was when the Jewish people put their faith in the Blood of a Lamb, to protect themselves from a plague that stalked the land of Egypt. This year’s Passover was strikingly like the first Passover. We were quarantined in our homes, praying and seeking God’s protection from a plague that stalked almost the entire world. As this year’s Passover has been so literal and different we anticipate that Pentecost 2020 may also be like no other.
Believers know that the fulfillment of Passover was when Yeshua - the Perfect Lamb of God - took us and our sin-nature to the Cross, died, was buried and rose from the dead to a new Resurrection life. After His Resurrection and Ascension He told His disciples to wait until they received ‘power from on high.’ They had no idea what He meant, but went to a room and out of fear, shut themselves inside waiting for something special from Heaven. When they received the promised Holy Spirit and power they lost their fear, became bold and turned the world upside- down with the gospel.
We believe that this Pentecost, 2020, can be similar for believers. We too have been shut in – many through fear. However if we pray, with great expectation Pentecost 2020, May 31st may be like no other. The Lord can do a “New Thing” (Isaiah 48) never done before that will give the church the Body of Christ a touch from Heaven that can change the world – if we RECEIVE AND OBEY.
Between now and Pentecost, let us cry out to the Lord for a mighty Holy Spirit move from Heaven on all nations that will change us to BE and DO what only He can.
We invite you to Join us over the next 10 days as we pray and seek the Lord together that He will demonstrate His Power and Ability enabling us to co-operate with His will and purposes so that the whole earth may be filled with His glory!
We will send a word each day leading up to the day of Pentecost to encourage you, and ask you to share, post and forward these widely with your churches, fellowships and friends.
