GOD’S WORD NEGATES ALGORITHMS

Much of today’s medicine is controlled by algorithms. An algorithm, when used in medicine, is a mathematical formula that profiles your risk of disease based on laws of averages and probabilities. Thus the doctors use this information to make decisions based, not on your actual health or symptoms, but on a mathematical profile based on age, ‘ethnicity,’ parents medical history etc. Then the algorithm makes a projection about your future based on a matrix of probabilities. Their degree of accuracy is high. They are used because they are accurate in over 90% of cases.

However, because you are born again “not of the flesh but of the Spirit”, you are not an algorithm - you are different. You are not the average, the normal or the typical. You have the faith of Abraham, and like Abraham, you are called out of the average projections and determinisms of your “country, kindred and father’s house.”

When we enter into the life of faith we make a DELIBERATE break with the negative factors within our culture and inheritance that dominated us. We DECIDE to CONSCIOUSLY break with what is the norm for the people of our country – their mindsets, lifestyles and expectations, and the hereditary limitations and diseases of our fathers house. We choose instead to have our future determined by the word of God, the promises of God and the redemptive power of the Cross and Resurrection.

When we believe in the Lord Jesus we are lifted from the jaws of “the law of sin and death” that have dragged our societies, our ancestors and ourselves into bondage since Adam. We are lifted from these negative laws of probability. Like a tiger jumping through a paper hoop we break through the laws of probability and into the law of God's plan and promises.

Psalm 91 Bursts All Algorithms!
“A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you….
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.”
(Psalm 91.7, 9-10)

In this great Psalm, we are actually challenged to SAY that what happens to a thousand people around us will not happen to us. Because of God’s protection we will be the one in a thousand who will not be harmed by the arrow (bullet) terror, or plague -opposite to the algorithm!

God says that what happens to a thousand people in our same probability group will not happen to us, if we put fear away, place our trust in Him and believe in His promises. Instead of making projections based on fear and negative probabilities, let us make them on the basis of His promises. This breaks the algorithm. He challenges us to believe and to SAY: “I am not determined by the algorithmic probability - my future is determined by the promises of God, who says in His word that I that will be satisfied with long life and will experience His salvation.”
