Ministry In Europe
As we write this newsletter we are home in Florida catching up with our friends and reconnecting with the ministries we work with here.
We spent August, September, October and the beginning of November in Ireland, U.K. Switzerland and in Israel with our annual tour. We ministered at over 50 meetings. Thanks to the help of your prayers the Lord blessed these meetings with His presence. We taught about the essence of the everlasting Gospel and the elements that propel dynamic Christianity, – the Word, the Spirit and the Name of Jesus.
While the message is everlasting and Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever, the Holy Spirit constantly changes the way in which that message goes forth. If we had a template we would simply go ahead and operate that template. It would soon become stale and unconnected from the leadership and life of heaven and the Holy Spirit. New things soon become old things as the Holy spirit anoints new people and reaches into new corners.
In our ministry we are constantly seeking – without any intended criticism of old things – new vessels to pour in the oil of the Spirit and new ways of presenting eternal realities. Strategies of five and ten years ago may be already stale today. This keeps all of us on our toes, seeking the direction and life of the Spirit. We can never be “mind” based – we must always be Spirit led. If not, yesterday’s “new thing” soon becomes todays “old thing”.
We were pleased with our meetings in Ireland. this year. One event that was particularly blessed was a day we arranged for gathering of fellow workers to come together to pray and hear together what they felt the Lord is saying to Ireland; to seek His face together for fresh strategies: and share together how the Lord is leading His Body in Ireland today. We had an awesome sense of His Sprit and felt the Lord’s pleasure that we were seeking His direction and not relying only on our head knowledge.
In Northern Ireland we experienced a fresh desire for new things at many meetings including Loughbrickland Mission in Banbrdige where there was fresh hunger for the Holy Spirit to direct and empower. We also sensed this at Freedom Life Centre in Co. Down where Billy McCammon hosted an evening of the Spirit.
In Switzerland we were hosted by two churches, including Church For the Nations, in Geneva. Church For The Nations purchased and moved into a new building which has become a beehive of activity used not only by the Church For The Nations but by other believers in the city. The church is growing from strength to strength in every way and is made up of about 800 lively believers.
Our Tour to Israel was blessed this year with the presence of two Jewish friends and their wives. For the first time our baptism service was at the site where Jesus was Baptized by John and then baptized directly with the Spirit. This is also the site where Joshua crossed into the Land of Promise and where Elisha received the mantle of Elijah. The places are so overflowing with Biblical memory and inspiration that it is almost too much to take in. We never found Israel so peaceful. Most people are only aware of the political conflict but hear little about the reconciliation movements between Jew and Arab and the mutual help that goes on between Israeli and Palestinians and between Israeli and Palestinian organizations. Nor do we hear much about the agricultural and even military help Israel gives to its Arab neighbors.
Our deepest thanks and appreciation to those who help us with your encouragement, prayers and financial support. Without you this ministry could not function.
One in His great love and service,
Paul & Nuala
