The RED BIRD
Monday, April 6, 2020
Hi Friends,
Nuala here. Yesterday when taking a walk around the grounds of a nearby Church I had a special encounter that perhaps would bless you also. As I walked along I suddenly saw a beautiful red cardinal bird walking in the undergrowth beside me. He did not fly away immediately and as it is the week of Jesus’ passover I began to reflect on the fact that believers are covered over head to toe with the Blood of Jesus remembering the old worship song “I am covered over with the Precious Blood of Jesus which He shed for me, shed for me etc” and I thought of the qualities of natural blood - life in the red cells - protection and defense in the white cells and sealing in the platelets . How much more, at what a price, the Blood of Jesus gives us His Life, defense and protection, and seals us from the enemy. “When I see the Blood I will passover”.
When I returned home I told Paul of my encounter and he reminded me that in Leviticus (14.4-7) it recounts the sacrifice of two doves (to cure leprosy). One bird died and the other bird was dipped in the blood of the dead bird and could fly way. We can never really fathom the extent of what Jesus did for us. This week especially - but really everyday- let us thank Him and reflect on the great cost to Him to cover us. Let us also pray that many more during this time of plague will come , believe and apply this Precious Blood in their lives. “They overcame by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony”.
Love & prayers,
Paul & Nuala
