.THE TWO SIDES OF THE DOOR
On the night of the first Passover the children of Israel, and all those who cared to join them, smeared the blood of the Passover Lamb on their doorposts, family by family.
They closed their doors and remained huddled inside feasting on the Lamb whose blood was on their doorposts.
By faith in the blood they survived the destruction.

Then after midnight it was time to pay attention to the inside of their doors.
It was time to open their doors and to move out to a new world and a new future.
Those who had received the protection of the Blood now moved on to an unknown future prepared for them by God Himself. They gladly left their pasts behind them and marched to a new destiny to serve the Lord God.

Today we take refuge in the blood of Jesus. It is the testimony that He has successfully paid for our sins and cancelled out the record of our sin guilt and shame. We apply it to our lives by putting our faith in this great reality, knowing that through His blood we are reconciled to God and sealed to be His people. We also “feast” on the Lamb and receive His life.

But believers have remained huddled in too long. It is now time to move out of our huddled spaces to embrace the destiny that God sets before us. This is the present move of God’s Spirit - the present revival.
We have had half a message – salvation without discipleship- security without destiny.

It is time to pay attention to the other side of the door – the inside - and to push it open and to go forward embracing our destiny to live as children of God. We are moving out of the house of slavery. We are moving out from the control of our Adam nature and embracing our Jesus nature. We are moving out of guilt and shame. We are moving out of the values and measurements of the world,. We are moving into our destiny a sons of God and co-heirs with Jesus.

When we emerge from the COVID-19 shutdown we are not to going back to business as usual and church as usual. We will not to continue to live as slaves to the world and to the hedonistic, humanistic self-centered living. By the power of His life and spirit we will leave these things behind us and live lives of love, in line with His word and directed by His Spirit. We will live by faith under the leadership of Our Messiah King and give ourselves over to do the diverse works He gives each of us to do.

This is what God says “Let my people go that they may serve Me!” (Exodus 7.16)
We will say to Jesus what the Israelis said to Joshua : “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go” (Joshua 1.16) but we will add one phrase “by the power of Your Spirit which we receive afresh this day”

The door is opening and we are leaving Egypt, the world the flesh and the devil’s temptations to serve our God in joy and gladness.
