THE MEANING OF JESUS' RESURRECTION

As believers our faith is not based on myths or states of consciousness but on solid historical facts. The Resurrection of Jesus is not a myth or simply a belief. It is an historical FACT, or it is nothing. It is an event that was foretold by the prophets especially by King David (Psalm 16) and is also recorded by the gospel and by historians such as Josephus.

"Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your Holy One see decay."

The Resurrection of Jesus means that God successfully in Messiah Jesus as the representative of mankind took the death penalty, blame and forensic guilt of the race of Adam. The way is now open for anyone to be, not only forgiven, but also fully restored to the highest fellowship, blessing and life of God our Heavenly Father. The questions now are: Do we want to be forgiven? Do we want to be restored to the care and life of God Father through what He has done for us by the Cross of Jesus?

Secondly the Resurrection means that Jesus as our representative has not only died FOR us, but we have died and risen IN Him. Now the hereditary connection with the sinful nature of Adam (which we were all born with) is broken. Paul explains that when Jesus died we died. (Romans 6.6; Galatians 2.20 ) Now, in the realm of the resurrection, God breathes His own nature into us. We receive a personal resurrection out of Adam (with his earthly self-centered sinful nature) into the Life and nature of the resurrected Jesus. By laying down our connection with our old sinful nature we can receive the Spirit of God to be our NEW NATURE.

We who receive the Spirit of the Resurrected Jesus as our life principle are a new species of human beings!! We are longer simply forgiven sons of Adam but sons of God by adoption! We are no longer joined to Adam's sinful nature but are joined to the Life and nature of Jesus. Our inner nature is no longer Adam's independent, separated nature, but the God connected, God dependent, God filled nature that was in Jesus from the beginning.

The benefits of the death and Resurrection of Jesus are now available to every human being - to those who are near, like the religious Christian or Jew, or to those who are far off in pagan religion, atheism or heinous sin. There is no resurrection without the Cross. The way is open for all to come streaming to the goodness of God and receive His forgiveness, restoration and RESURRECTION LIFE as a gift - not earned - but won for us by our Savior and Redeemer - King Jesus.

The Resurrection means that there is NEW LIFE after a life of moral failure, condemnation and rejection. There is a new beginning now available for all at the REVERSE SIDE OF THE CROSS and the reverse side of guilt. There is a life after Adam when we receive the life of Jesus with open hearts, sincerity and repentance.

Adam's life was marked with independence and disobedience. Jesus’ life was marked with total dependence, total obedience and total union with God His loving Father. When we receive His life and live in it we embark on a life that is like His - a life of total dependence and total obedience arising out of total union with God OUR loving Father. We begin to live in the answer to Yeshua's prayer.

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me, and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one - I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." (John 17.21-23)

The Resurrection of Jesus means we are no longer trying to live the righteous life. Instead we live by the life of Another. The Righteous One lives in us and causes His righteousness to arise from within me. Our task is to simply draw from it at all times depend on it at every moment and yield to it continually.

Finally the Resurrection of Jesus means that God can fill the earth - with all its tribes, cultures and nationalities - with a new species of human being (new creations) who are attached to God as branch to a tree. Those once bound by the sinful Adam life can now be freely and fully emancipated from condemnation, restored to God’s favor and blessing and filled with the life of God Himself. This is why Jesus can say to His newborn Spirit filled disciples on the days after the resurrection what He now says to us. "Go into all the world. " "As the Father sent me so also I send you."

LET US CELEBRATE THE FULNESS OF RESURRECTION - HIS & OURS!!
